College in the High School Students

Welcome to College in the High School

Welcome and congratulations on participating in Wenatchee Valley College’s College in the High School program. This incredible opportunity allows you to begin earning college credit before graduating from high school. You will find that this experience not only rewards you with college credit, but also valuable experience that will assist you in future college endeavors.

Student Benefits

Students who participate in our College in the High School program find that it:

  • Enhances ability and skills to do college level work and gain confidence for college success.
  • Saves money by receiving free college credit and reducing the amount of time after high school to complete a college degree.
  • WVC credits are transferable to all college/universities within Washington state and many other institutions outside of the state.
  • Students entering the military may earn a higher rank with earned college credit.
  • Provides access to WVC student support services such as the library, tutoring, counseling, and more.
  • Research shows that students are more likely to finish college and earn more credits by the second year of college.

How to Qualify 

Students wanting to participate in a College in the High School course must qualify for the program. Students must be in grades 9-12th and meet WVC requirements for placement into college level coursework.

Registration Process

Once you qualify, follow the steps below to register:

  1. Qualifying scores/transcripts are submitted to the Director of Concurrent Enrollment by the instructor or counseling office of the school.
    1. Instructors will be notified of students who do not qualify for the program
  2. The Director will work with the High School Instructor to plan a day for course registration
  3. On the course registration day, the director will discuss items such as academic dishonesty, prerequisites, course transferability, FERPA, ADA, etc.
  4. Starting 2026-27 academic year, we will be using the Online Admissions Application Portal. Please use this guide and/or the video tutorial below to assist you in filling out the application.

Course registration is done digitally through Microsoft Forms.

Student Handbook

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act is a federal law regarding the privacy of student records and the obligations of the institution, primarily in the areas of release of the records and the access provided to these records. To give access to a trusted individual to access your educational records, submit a Release Educational Records form to amendoza@wvc.edu. *Parents cannot submit this on their students behalf.

1) You must have your ctcLink student identification number handy. If you have misplaced it, you can lookup your ID using the ctcLink ID Lookup tool.

2.) Go to the Activate ctcLink page. Your username is your WVC/ctcLink student identification number. You will be taken to this screen below:

Once you click submit, you will be taken to enter in your email, phone number, and to create a password. IMPORTANT: Your password cannot contain any part of your first or last name. 

Once you have activated your account, you will be able to login to your ctcLink account by clicking ctcLink Login here.

From this page you can access your Canvas, your schedule, pay tuition/fees, print unofficial transcripts, access the library and its resources, and much more!

Students have the right to withdraw from their courses if they choose.  You may drop a class until the end of the 35th day of instruction. Courses dropped during the first 10 days of instruction are not included on your transcript.  Those dropped after the 10th day will be recorded with a "W" on your transcript.  Students must first notify their instructor that they wish to withdraw.  The student will need to complete the the Course Change Form and return it to the Director of Concurrent Enrollment as soon as possible. Any withdrawal forms received after the published last date to withdraw on the CHS Academic Calendar, will not be processed and the student will remain in the course. 

 

As a College in the High School student, you have access to the following WVC services:

Counseling- Student Services offers academic counseling, readmission petitions, career counseling, and personal counseling 509.682.6850.

Tutoring- All currently enrolled WVC students are eligible to use the FREE online tutoring service offered by a group of colleges in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

  • STEM Lab- A place where students can seek help and work with WVC Math Faculty. It also offers a quiet space for students to do their math homework. Wenatchi Hall, 2nd floor.
  • WriteLab- The Write Lab provides tutoring services for writing you have been assigned by your WVC instructors. You can receive help with college application letters or scholarship applications. Tutors can help you plan, cite, and/or help you revise your writing before you submit your final draft. Library- The library hols physical and electronic collections, media, study room, Xerox machine, and student-use computers. John A. Brown Library Wenatchee Campus 509.682.6860, Omak Campus 509.422.7830.

Student Access Services- is the primary office to guide, coach, and assist students with disabilities. It provides accommodations and information on benefits, rights and privileges of college services, programs, and activities. Wenatchi Hall, First Floor 509.682.6854.

IT Helpdesk- The Helpdesk is student's first point of contact for technology related questions. 509.682.6550

Financial Aid- can assist students in applying for all types of financial assistance, including grants, work study opportunities, veteran benefits, scholarships and student loans. 509.682.6810

Registration/Admissions- can help students who want to continue their studies at WVC or if you need help with obtaining your transcript for transferring your credits. 509.682.6806
